Este nuevo bastón, desarrollado en estrecha colaboración con invidentes, sólo genera avisos ante obstáculos por encima de la cintura que representan un serio peligro para la integridad física del usuario.
La detección de los objetos se realiza gracias a un conjunto de sensores que pueden adaptarse a un bastón blanco tradicional y mejorar su funcionalidad.
El bastón inteligente, presentado hoy, sólo pesa 130 gramos e incorpora un microcontrolador que permite ajustar la distancia de detección a las necesidades del usuario, en función de sus características físicas (altura o anchura de hombros), velocidad de movimiento y densidad de ocupación de la vía.
